Terms & Conditions
Seacraft IT is a digital platform connecting maritime IT suppliers, buyers, operators, and industry professionals worldwide. We are committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy in line with UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and applicable data protection laws. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information, and outlines your rights.
Lawful basis for processing personal data
We only collect and process personal data where we have a lawful basis: your consent (for example, when you opt in to receive communications), our legitimate interests (when you engage with Seacraft IT content, events, or services), contractual necessity (to deliver services you have requested), or legal obligation (where required by law).
Registration for webinars, virtual events and digital content
When you register for a Seacraft IT webinar, virtual event, demo, or on‑demand content, we collect information such as your name, company, role, and email address to process your registration, communicate with you, and manage access to restricted materials. Some webinars, demos, or virtual products are hosted or sponsored by third‑party technology vendors. In these cases, your registration details may be shared with the relevant vendor so they can approve your participation and deliver the session. Once shared, those vendors act as independent data controllers under their own privacy policies and may contact you after the session about the content presented.
Opt‑in communications and marketing preferences
If you opt in, Seacraft IT may contact you with webinar and event invitations, eJournals and newsletters, industry insights, relevant partner content, and conference or community updates. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly, after which your personal data will be deleted or anonymised unless we must keep it for legal reasons.
Use of personal information
We use your personal data only for the purposes described in this policy, never sell it, and only share it with trusted third parties where necessary and lawful. We keep personal data only for as long as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes and apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.
Your data protection rights
Under GDPR you have the right to withdraw consent at any time, be informed about the personal data we hold and how it is used, access your data, correct inaccurate or incomplete data, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You can exercise these rights free of charge; we may need to verify your identity before acting on your request. If you believe your rights have been infringed, you may contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at www.ico.org.uk.
Data controller
For data protection purposes, the data controller is Seacraft IT Ltd, 52 The Meadway, Shoreham‑by‑Sea, West Sussex, BN43 5RP, United Kingdom. You can contact Gayle Mardell or Michel Kruijff at info@seacraftit.com or by writing to the address above.
Website use and cookies
When you use Seacraft IT websites, we may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, and usage patterns to maintain secure access, improve performance, and understand how our sites are used. We use cookies for essential functionality and analytics; you can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work correctly if cookies are disabled. Third‑party services we use may place their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
Third‑party services and sponsors
We may share personal data with third parties where required to deliver services or events you have registered for, where you have explicitly consented, or where disclosure is required by law. All third‑party service providers are expected to process data securely and only for agreed purposes. When you interact directly with a sponsor, exhibitor, or partner, your relationship and communication preferences with them are governed by their own policies.
Virtual products and sponsored content
Some Seacraft IT virtual products, including webinars and demos, are sponsored. In these cases, your registration details will be shared with the sponsoring organisation so they can deliver the content. If you do not want your details shared with sponsors, you should not register for sponsored virtual products.
Community and interactive features
Seacraft IT provides interactive features such as comments, Q&A, feedback, and expert discussions for professional, non‑promotional use. Promotion or solicitation in these areas is not allowed, and breaches may result in suspension or removal of access.
Membership
By registering on Seacraft IT, you become a member and gain access to eJournals and archives, webinars and virtual demos, and community and expert content. You can unsubscribe from communications or close your account at any time.
Email communications
By providing your email address, you consent to receive communications related to Seacraft IT services, content, and events. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. Email addresses are never sold and are only shared as described in this policy.
Data security and retention
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal data, including password‑protected areas where appropriate. We keep data only for as long as needed for business or legal purposes before securely deleting it.
Automated decision‑making
Seacraft IT does not generally use automated decision‑making or profiling. If this changes, we will update this policy and inform affected individuals where required.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be published on this page and, where appropriate, notified by email. Your continued use of Seacraft IT services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
